The Good Design Award is sponsored by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion , a public interest incorporated foundation, and is given to products with excellent design . The aim of the award is to promote the development of life, industry, and ultimately society as a whole, and it is given to products that are innovative, sophisticated, have created new values, and have given special consideration to the global environment.
